when we're alone
In the late hours of the night I’ve explored the possibilities of what can happen when the camera shutter is open for long periods of time. Through my exploration I’ve discovered the potential of manipulating light to create a moody environment that feels both dark and bright simultaneously. By combining light painting and night time portraits an intimate series came to be, a series that evokes feelings of curiosity, creativity, and self reflection.
In this photo series, each individual is in a place they call home, or a place where they are most comfortable. The calm and chaotic light in these photos represents the colourful electricity that exists when we inhabit our own space and the energy we feel in the places where we are most comfortable.
A unique look into the personal lives of people at night.
